Wedding bouquets that outlive the wedding

A bouquet of fresh flowers is in the bin by Wednesday. This one is satin ribbon: it goes into the photographs, it goes home in the car, and it is on a shelf at the first anniversary looking the way it looked on the day.

Weddings are agreed rather than ordered. Tell me the date, the colours of the dresses and roughly how many flowers; I draw a sketch, we settle it in messages, and the work starts once the sketch is agreed.

Time: one to seven days for an ordinary bouquet, about two weeks for bridal work with buttonholes and posies for the bridesmaids. Write early if the date is already fixed.

Colour: send a photograph of the dress and the ribbon is matched to it. The 10 shades in the palette are the ones kept in the studio; anything else is bought for the order.

Afterwards it needs nothing. Keep it out of direct sun and blow the dust off with a hairdryer on cold once a year. Never wash it.
